Aloe vera grows wild in tropical climates and is cultivated for both agricultural and medicinal uses.
Qualities: Aloe vera has been esteemed for its soothing, moisturizing, and healing properties for centuries. Research is however non-conclusive regarding the effectiveness in treating wounds or burns.
Common use: Aloe vera is used in traditional medicine as a skin treatment and thus widely used in the cosmetic industry as an inclusion in many hygiene products due to its "moisturizing emollient effect". Aloe is also believed to enhance the growth of hair, add moisture and condition hair, and balance the pH of the scalp. There are a variety of DIY aloe shampoo recipes available online.
Storage: keeps well in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and dark location.
Safety: please consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications. Oral ingestion of aloe vera is not recommended as it has been associated with potential side effects such as abdominal cramps and diarrhea.

If you have ever used normal aloe vera powder, you do not want to get this. First of all, the color is a dark brown, instead of the normal white-powder color. But more important, it has a strong and unpleasant taste which no other aloe vera powder that I have ever bought has had. Avoid.
