ORGANIC DARJEELING TEA, black
SKU: HTT3B-025
Hurry up! Sales Ends In
Ingredients: organic Darjeeling tea leaf (Camellia sinensis) - Autumnal flush
Origin: India
According to the Tea Board of India - "Darjeeling Tea" can only refer to tea that has been cultivated, grown, produced, manufactured and processed in tea gardens of the West Bengal area in India. Although Darjeeling teas are marketed commercially as "black teas", almost all of them have incomplete oxidation (<90%) and therefore are technically more Oolong than black. Darjeeling tea contains caffeine.
Production: the process to create tea is complicated and each step requires takes a lot of experience and skill. Fresh tea leaves are left to wither in the sun, then tumbled to bruise the leaves in order to allow degrees of oxidation. Finally, the leaves are rolled and heat dried to stop the oxidation process.
Variety: Autumnal flush is harvested in the autumn after the rainy season and believed to have a somewhat less delicate flavor and less spicy tones, yet a fuller body and darker color. Some describe the taste of this Darjeeling as balanced, lively with a nutty aroma.
Storage: Store in a cool, dark, dry place

Minimum threshold for tea snobs
If you have to serve tea to someone who is, shall we say, PARTICLAR about their tea, this will do fine. It's delicious of course, but my own standards are significantly lower.
Good quality tea.
Tastes between black and green

Tea is tasty...however...our main motivation for buying bulk online is to reduce packaging. We can't recycle ziplock plastic bags in our area. Is there any chance we can just get bulk in paper?
