Production: RBD (refined, bleached, and deodorized) Coconut oil is extracted from “Copra” the dried meat of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm. Instead of chemicals which are prohibited in organic production, this RBD oil is produced using charcoal filtering, followed by high-temperature steam injection to remove all volatile oil (flavor).
Qualities: without any coconut flavor or aroma, RBD coconut oil makes a very versatile oil and can be heated up to 400F.
Common Use: This affordable oil with neutral scent and flavor is the most commonly used commercial cooking oil worldwide.
Storage: Because of its high saturated fat content, coconut oil is slow to oxidize which renders it resistant to rancidification and can be kept at room temperature. For longterm storage, it can be refrigerated or frozen.

ORGANIC COCONUT OIL, refined
I was excited to find this deodorized (refined) coconut oil. My daughter has an MTHFR gene mutation and in my research I’ve found that these individuals have difficulty digesting fats (and their bodies are often deficient of fat soluble vitamins as my daughter is). Coconut oil and MTC oil bypass this digestion and go straight to nourishing the body. But my daughter doesn’t like the taste of unrefined coconut oil in every dish. This oil performs just as well as the unrefined oil in sautéing or other cooking. It has the same consistency as the unrefined and we find it to be really useful!
