Qualities: coconut butter is simply fresh coconut meat that has been dried and ground into a smooth and creamy spreadable paste.
Coconut contains no cholesterol or trans fats but is pretty high in saturated fat (9g/Tbsp) and is appreciated for a number of essential nutrients, including dietary fiber (about 2g/Tbsp), potassium, manganese, phosphorus, iron, copper, and selenium.
Common Use: coconut butter makes a delicious spread all by itself or combined with another nut butter (try a blend with hazelnut butter, maple syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt for a homemade version of Nutella). It lends extra creaminess to raw chocolate or energy bars, delicious when melted over sweet potatoes or roasted winter squash, mixed into curries as a coconut milk replacement, blended into smoothies, or spooned straight from the jar as a satisfying snack.
Storage: Store in a sealed container at room temperature for a spreadable consistency. Refrigeration will harden the butter but is recommended for longterm storage.

I used this in making Balm of Gilead. When I put on the balm, it feels like I’m wearing silk. So good! I also used it in my delicious chocolate making experience. Hard to get out of the container because it’s so hard but worth the effort.
I guess I expected it to be more of a creamy texture but its more like more solid coconut oil and it doesn't melt down in your hands the same as coconut oil. I've only used it in my daily tea so far and it is pretty delicious. I only put about a teaspoon in and mix it with my spices and honey and herbs.
