Botanical Name: Schisandra chinensis

Description: Schisandra berries, also known as "wu-wei-zi" or "five flavor fruit," are recognized for their unique combination of sour, sweet, salty, bitter, and pungent taste notes. Native to Northern China, Russia, and parts of Korea, Schisandra has a long history of traditional use and is also valued as an ornamental climbing vine due to its lush foliage and bright red berry clusters.
Processing: The berries are harvested when fully ripe and then dried to preserve their flavor and quality. These dried berries are suitable for a variety of culinary and herbal preparations.
Suggested Use: Schisandra berries can be steeped into teas or decoctions by gently simmering. They may also be infused into fruit juices or used in tinctures and syrups. A common preparation includes soaking 1/2 cup of dried berries in a gallon of dark fruit juice for 24 hours, then straining. For a syrup, the berries can be soaked in vegetable glycerin for several weeks.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry, and dark place in an airtight container to preserve freshness.

This is the second time I order from you this wealth of health and beauty, tons of polyphenols, and natural vitamin C!!!I soak them in water for a few hours, after removing excess water and slightly drying, I macerate these berries in honey for at least 2 months. They are wonderful, bitter-sour, the sweetness of honey is almost imperceptible. I add a small (they're very condensed) amount to a smoothie with other berries. At 73 and no wrinkles, it's a "sour-bitter" schisandra effect. Many thanks for the fast and reliable delivery.

The prices are excellent, and that was a concern that the quality would not be as good, the packaging would be cheap, etc. On the contrary, the quality is top notch. Schisandra Berries are of the same quality when I have paid almost twice as much. I highly recommend this company and, from what I have ordered, the few products I ordered are beyond what I expected in terms of quality. TY!
