Production: Raspberry leaves are gathered in the spring just before the plant flowers as they contain the highest antioxidant content. They are then dried and cut.
Qualities: Raspberry leaf is a very pleasant tasting herbal remedy, similar to that of black tea, but without the caffeine content. It is rich in vitamin B, iron, magnesium, potassium and calcium, in an easily absorbable form. In herbal medicine, raspberry leaf is seen to be very beneficial for the female reproductive system. It is used externally to soothe sunburn, eczema, and rashes. It can be used by swishing in the mouth to alleviate symptoms of gingivitis or gum disease.
Common Use: Raspberry leaf tea is made by itself or in a blend with other herbs such as peppermint, nettle, or rosehips (check out our Nourishing Tea). It can be applied topically or be used as a facial toner, hair rinse, or in other homemade cosmetics.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in a sealed container.
