Production: Coconut oil is extracted from the meat of mature fresh coconuts harvested from the coconut palm. Virgin coconut oil is made from the first pressing of fresh, raw coconuts, without the addition of any chemicals. This pure-white, creamy natural product is neither, bleached, hydrogenated, nor deodorized.
Qualities: Virgin coconut oil is fairly high in saturated fat but is also about half lauric acid, a medium-chain fatty acid believed to raise HDL. Compared to many other types of fats, the fatty acids in coconut oil might be digested more easily and have also been known to kill harmful pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
Common Use: Coconut oil is extremely versatile. As it can be heated to high temperatures it is ideally suited for frying and baking and adds a fine, exotic note to dishes. Coconut oil generally acquires a stronger coconut flavor as it is exposed to more heat, whereas raw, unrefined coconut oil has a very mild flavor and scent. This explains the wide range of applications of raw coconut oil in skin-, hair-, and dental care, making it an excellent skin and hair moisturizer or for “oil pulling”.
Storage: Because of its high saturated fat content, coconut oil is slow to oxidize which renders it resistant to rancidification and can be kept at room temperature. For longterm storage, it can be refrigerated or frozen.

Tried and true coconut oil!!
I can always count on consistency of product with essential organics organic coconut oil. I have tried other organic coconut oil in a pinch…not the same. I will not make the mistake of allowing my organic coconut oil to run low again!

Lots of plastic in oil found when melted
Be careful ordering from this company. I was really excited to change my supplier and start ordering oil from here regularly. Unfortunately, there is a lot of plastic found in the oil when melted from solid to liquid. I ordered a 5 gallon pail and right away wanted to get it in glass bottles so I started melting the oil for transfer. There was an incredibly amount of plastic in the oil and unfortunately, if you just order the oil and use it in solid form or don't melt a big batch then perhaps you would never see. I cannot sell this to customers and even after clearing the plastic, I am concerned to sell it. The price is very good but the quality does not match. Please melt your oil in entirety and check for plastic before using. The container being plastic should not mean the oil has plastics mixed in too.
