These areas are known for their good water quality, sufficient sunlight, non-polluted air, and abundant natural alkaline resources. (The acronym GNP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices. To be GMP Certified means that the manufacturer has demonstrated a strong regulatory commitment and compliance to international GMP standards.)
This product is carefully and routinely tested for the potential presence of melamine, algal toxins, and heavy metals. Organic Matters thoroughly reviews Certificates of Analysis for each production lot and ensures that the product meets all best quality specifications.
Qualities: This blue green algae has a long history of use as a food. Spirulina contains greater than 50% protein by weight, and numerous vitamins including B12, iron, and chlorophyll. It has a high concentration of amino acids. All of this has made it a very popular nutritional supplement, specifically for those that cannot obtain sufficient protein and calories through diet alone.
Common Use: Spirulina can be taken in a capsule, or added to smoothies and juices.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in cool, dry, dark place. Refrigeration recommended but do not freeze. Keep out of direct sunlight.
Safety: We recommend that you consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using any herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications.

I use spirulina as a supplement for meats and fish as it's rich in protein, iron, and b12. The OM foods catalogue is full of affordable products relative to the current market prices. This is no exception,Hooray!

It's a great added ingredient to my smoothie shakes which I add a bunch of other things too to make them healthy and filling.

I feel more energetic when I put this in my smoothies but it definitely has a fishy kind of smell, I haven't tasted any fishiness in my smoothies but try not to breath too deep when you open the bag. I'm sure it would dye things a cool green color as well, I haven't tried it in any baking or anything yet, only already green smoothies. Also its really hard to know how much a pound of each of these things is, it would be awesome if you posted a picture of each item packaged for reference.

After consuming this powder my conclusion is that I don't trust that the product is as pure, fresh and as clean of pollutants as it claims to be and as a consequence my body didn't respond well to it, I am disappointed with the quality, this is one item I will not purchase again, it was a waste off money, definitely not the high quality that I think organic matters strive to offer.

We love it as a nutritional and flavour boost on popcorn! We call it Oscar the grouch popcorn because of the fun deep green colour..
