Origin: Greece / France
Production: Tarragon is a perennial herb that is a part of the sunflower family. It grows wildly in Eurasia and North America and is also cultivated for culinary uses.
Qualities: In the past tarragon was used in herbal healing, though now it is more commonly used for cooking. It is one of the four fines herbes in French cuisine.
Common Use: The flavorful, minty, anise-like taste of tarragon goes deliciously with eggs, in soups, sauces, vegetables, fish, chicken, salad dressings, and in herbal vinegars, oils, and butters.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark location in a sealed container.
